Headed back to Nicaragua!

Prayer Update, February, 2020

Headed back to Nicaragua!

God's ways and timing are so perfect!  We can see multiple reasons why He did not allow Diane to travel to Nicaragua alone in December, and has now provided for both of us to travel there together from Feb. 1-11th.  There will be so much more ministry we can do as we go together.  We do ask your specific prayer for protection for Andy from the dengue fever that has been epidemic there this past year.  Since he had the hemorrhaging type in March last year, we are told by the experts that if he were to be infected with any of the other 5 strains of the virus, his organs would most likely shut down.  But since it is now the dry, windy season in Nicaragua, there are fewer mosquitoes around and the incidents of dengue fever are much reduced.  So Andy is going by faith, trusting the Lord and your prayers for protection!  (We're also taking a good mosquito net and lots of repellent!)

Praise the Lord with us that He has provided an Odyssey van (2012) that we are trusting will be the perfect tool for our new ministry of ABWE Member Care.  We are thankful also for the wonderful time we had with all of our children and grandchildren, besides most of our siblings and their families, over the Christmas holidays.  God is SO good!

We're resting on God's promise once more: "…Ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:24).   Please pray with us concerning the following prayer needs:

  1. That God will use us according to His purposes as:
  • Andy preaches in the ECC Church in Managua on the 2nd and in the "Amor de Dios" Baptist Church in San Juan del Sur on the 9th.  Pray that the Lord would use us to challenge their hearts to be more involved in witnessing and reaching out to others.
  • We interview and pray with each ABWE missionary unit, seeking to be a help and encouragement to them.
  • A church planter pastor and his wife whom we consider our spiritual children are going through a marital crisis and we will have opportunity to counsel and pray with them.
  • That God will give eternal fruit as we seek to be a witness for Christ everywhere we go.
  • We will attempt to get some needed paperwork done for the church parsonage in San Juan del Sur, and perhaps help get it more livable.  We will not have many days to spend there and also want to visit and encourage all the brethren.
  1. For safety in travel, and that we not be charged overweight as we are taking quite a few books down.
  2. For good health and God's protection from the dengue fever.
  3. For more contact with the missionaries and pre-fielders under our care, and that God would use us as an encouragement and help to them.  Praise God that several of the pre-fielders have seen an increase in their financial support in the past month!  If anyone would be interested in supporting an ABWE missionary to any of the following countries, please let us know and we can send you their contact info:  Nicaragua, Mexico, Jamaica, Ecuador, Peru, Moldova, and possibly Costa Rica.

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and support!  May the Lord bless and use you mightily in the harvest field in which He has placed you.

Serving our Wonderful, Prayer-Answering Lord,

Andy and Diane Large
